Leonie Pujol Mixed Media Launch and Give Away!!

Hello again!

I hope you are having a great day and evening so far!

Tonight sees the launch of a new One Day Special by Leonie Pujol and to celebrate I am running a give away for one of the sets of mixed media dies...

To enter all you need to do is to leave a comment on this blog post (if you can't see a comment box then just click on the actual post title and you should find somewhere to comment at the bottom of the post).  The give away will run between 8pm today and 8pm on Saturday 23rd July (BST), when a name will be chosen at random from the comments that have been left.

Katrina, Elaine and Nick are also running give aways on their Facebook pages at the same time and we are all giving away different sets so please do go and enter via the links...

But onto my sample that I would like to share with you tonight!  I chose this one because it really is in a mixed media style and I used a number of the dies and stamps (including the one for this give away)...

I used the dies to create texture by sticking the dies to the plaque and also by stencilling through the waste.  This was then painted over with gesso then coloured with blue paint and highlighted with silver Pebeo gilding wax...

The line stamps were then used to create more layers using silver embossing powder and then the heart stamp used with silver gilding flakes to add another layer on top...

I wanted to use the face dies to make a real focal point, so cut those out using antique silver card and placed them by working out where I also wanted my sentiment...

Finally I chose this beautiful sentiment that just seemed to fit so well with all the elements that I had used on the plaque.  I added some extra interest by using the line stamp and also to help tie it in to the rest of the project.  This was then layered onto matching antique silver card and placed onto the plaque...

These products have been really great to work with and I am sure they will be making lots of appearances within my mixed media pieces.  However next week you will see in my posts how they can be adapted to make very pretty pieces as well as cards in all sorts of styles so I hope you will take a look on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to see some of my other samples in closer detail.

Please do leave a comment to be in with a chance to win the die set, entries close on 23/7/16 at 8pm (BST) and also visit the other design team members Facebook pages.
